Ready, Set Rio!

With the Olympics in full swing, we thought what better way to get in the spirit here at Amour&Mer than to look back at the sporting event.

As a firm believer in secure and on trend swimwear, we want to look back at iconic female swimmers who made their mark, looking fabulous doing so.

Shane Gould

1972

Aussie Gould only took part in one of the Olympics at the tender age of 15. A winner of five medals at this event, three of which were gold. Not only this, Shane was the first female swimmer to break a record in the three events in which she won gold. We think that's pretty impressive for someone so young.

Krisztina Egerszegi

1988 - 1996

Hungarian Krisztina represented her country for three of the games. She hold seven medals from this, including 5 gold medals. Due to her success at the games. What adds to Krisztina Egerszegi's amazing status, is being on out of two people in Olympic history to have won the same swimming event three events in a row!

Jennifer Beth Thompson

1992  - 2004

The most decorated female swimmer of the Olympics, USA representative, Jennifer - also know as Jenny Thompson, in 1999 she was voted Greatest Female Athlete of All Time by Sports Illustrated. Over her twelve years at the Olympics, she won a total of 12 medals.

With inspiration from all ends of the globe, why not get in the spirit and check out our new collection, that will have you feeling empowered of its lounging beachside or getting in the swimming spirit!
