At A&M we are always trying to live a healthy lifestyle (mostly, so we can look good in our swimwear!) and we love doing research in to different foods and drinks to find the best things for our health!
Today, we’re looking at watermelon!
Watermelon is a super refreshing fruit that’s incredibly hydrating and loaded with loads of healthy stuff! The fruit is full of lycopene and beta-carotene. Lycopene and beta-carotene provide benefits such as preventing heart disease and breast and prostate cancer, soothing the side effects of asthma and providing a good source of vitamin A. It’s no wonder watermelon gets called the miracle fruit!
We have found a really cool watermelon cocktail too! (because, thats healthy-ish right?) See below for the recipe.

- 4 cups of seedless watermelon chunks
- 1 1/2 cups of lemonade
- 1`/2 cup fresh mint
- In a blender, puree the watermelon and lemonade; strain if desired.
- Stir in the mint and serve over ice.
- For an instant cocktail: Stir in 1/2 cup vodka or tequila before serving
