Happy Australia Day to our Aussie friends! Australia is made up of beautiful landscapes, laid-back cities and extraordinary beaches. We just wish we were there to celebrate! Instead, at A&M we have decided to come up with some amazing places that we would like to visit next time we are out there!
Shell Beach, Shark Bay
Shell Beach is a beach in the Shark Bay region of Western Australia. This beautiful snow-white beach is made up of millions of tiny shells up to 10 metres deep and stretching for over 120 kilometres. The beautiful tiny shells are just as pretty as distinctly greeny-blue ocean that surrounds them, so its a beautiful place to visit!
The Pink Lakes of Murrey-Sunset National Park
It is not just the sunsets in the Murray-Sunset National Park that glow pink. This park is the location of the Pink Lakes that indeed live up to their name, they really are pink! Their colour is due to the presence of red algae that, along with the solid salt bed of the lakes, create this unusual hue. There are four lakes in the park that exude the brilliant shades of pink: Lake Crosbie, Lake Becking, Lake Kenyon and Lake Hardy.
Whitehaven Beach, Whitsunday Islands
The 74 Whitsunday Islands lie between the northeast coast of Queensland and the Great Barrier Reef. Whitsunday Island is the largest of the 74 islands, and is home to Whitehaven Beach, a 7 km stretch of beautiful untouched beach, a true slice of paradise. Due to its natural beauty, crystal clear waters and pristine white sand the beach is the most photographed beach is Aus! So go along and get yourself a snap!
The 12 Apostles
The 12 Apostles are a collection of limestone rocks in the sea, which can be seen when driving along the Great Ocean Road in Victoria. The apostles were formed by erosion; the harsh and extreme weather conditions from Australias Southern Ocean gradually eroded the soft limestone to form caves in the cliffs, which then became arches, which in turn collapsed; leaving rock stacks up to 50 metres high! The Great Ocean Road has many of beautiful views but the 12 Apostles is said to top them all!
We can't wait to get exploring! Happy Australia Day guys!
