Best Beaches close to home: Northumberland

In today's blog we are going back to our Northumbrian routes and showing you the beautiful beaches what inspired our creative designer Rachel Forster. Growing up with Northumberland’s most exquisite sandy shores on her doorstep it's no wonder she became the MERMAID that she is today!

 SEAHOUSES

Seahouses festival

The Seahouses Festival is a village community event that has evolved into one of the most significant cultural celebrations in Northumberland. Live music, good eats and entertainment for the whole rotten family.

CRASTER

Known for its #kippers and picture perfect harbour view (but we don't really care about that we're a bikini company!) It is also known for its bloody good Fish ‘n’ Chips! Be sure to make time for The Jolly Fisherman, It’s hard to miss because it’s so charming and inviting! I could really do with a glass of red on that balcony….

AMBLE LINKS

An un-spoilt beach famous for its annual puffin festival; the tourist destination is nicknamed ‘The friendliest port’ for a goddamn reason! Wedged comfortably in between Alnmouth and Druridge Bay it’s a great little pit stop for cyclists, hikers and coastal road-trippers and for such a small town it has some great little seaside eats! Here’s our top four:

The old Boat House

With a rustic bistro feel, Old Boat House in Amble offers seafood straight from the boats that dock in the harbour.

Sea Salt

New to the Main Street, Amble should be proud of its latest addition.

 Coquet Tea Rooms

You haven't lived if you've visited amble and not had a cream tea in the Tearooms! A retro gift shop and great place to take the family for a Teddy Bears Picnic!

 Spurreli ice cream parlor

Raspberry Pavlova, Ferrero Rocher and Sweetie Pie are some of our favourite flavours! Don’t be afraid to mix it up and try something new!

BLYTH, SOUTH BEACH

Golden sands and cute little beach huts, what more can we say? …Oh right places to eat:

The Blyth Boathouse

The Boathouse is situated on Blyth harbour which is ideal to watch the ships and small fishing boats while you have your meal.

The Art House

Relax in the comfortable atmosphere with walls displaying artwork framed to complement the elegant surroundings.

BAMBURGH CASTLE BEACH

Bamburgh is often described as an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, we can see why!

Remember we still have discount code FREESHIPPING on all Amour&Mer swimwear!
