Our Top 5 holiday Destinations

Where will you go in 2015? We can't plan your vacations for you, but here at Amour&Mer we can certainly help you narrow your wish list of destinations with our Top 5 Holiday dreaming Travel Destinations list. We've also added a sprinkle of fashion by suggesting which Amour&Mer bikini would be perfect for that last minute summer holiday!

NUMBER 1 THAILAND

First on our list is Thailand, a tranquil and largely popular haven for twenty-something travellers Lusciously green mountainous in the middle with stunning palm-fringed beaches along the coast, it is a true island paradise, mostly untouched by tourism – but that won’t last long. Our founder and designer Rachel spent a summer travelling around Thailand and grew inspiration for Amour&Mer while out there; “Days are spent sunning on the pristine beaches, with an endless supply of cocktail buckets and beach parties, some of the most beautiful viewing spots in all of Thailand were able to take my breath away. I had the chance to visit the location of one of my favourite films ‘The Beach’ and Thailand is one of the only places you are rewarded for trying your hand at a spot of Thai boxing with a free cocktail bucket! @reggaeBar. The best way to see the island is slowly, on bike or scooter which I found a refreshing way of living!”

NUMBER 2 SOUTH OF FRANCE 'CANNES'

Second on our summer wish list is the South of France, we would love to be sunning it up on the French Riviera this August. Our marketing Intern Iona has some travel tips for southern France lovers “I grew up in southern Spain so as a family we would road trip our way up to the south of France, I remember the bluest seas’ and sky’s I’d every seen, France is an exquisite mix of both of Spain and England, we Brits love going to Cannes to escape to a calmer way of life.”

With this kind of luxury only an hour away by flights how could you not be tempted to jet off to southern France? The perfect spot to find wild pool parties, sip champagne on a yacht and go celebrity spotting; Cannes is really so much more than the annual film festival. In fact, Cannes can be a destination spot for a vacation that includes it all: art, nature, and cultural.  For something more off the beaten path, a quick ferry ride out to the Illes de Lerins might be in order - we'll let you discover why!

NUMBER 3 BALI

Third on our list is Bali, an island & province of Indonesia, famous for it’s temples, yoga retreats and lively bars all located in reach of white calming beaches. Our design Intern Jess is planning a trip there and will be sure to take her SHILO open-back swimsuit along for the adventure, some places she is eager to visit will be; Abandoned Utopia –green beach bowl, a secret beach which was left as an abandoned paradise after Bali cliff resort closed.

Geger beach is another hidden paradise bali has kept perfect for snorkelling and swimming, The potatohead beach club is something that all tourists must try! If you are an early bird try visiting the Hot springs at Banjar village in North Bali.

 NUMBER 4 HAWAII

Fourth on our list is Hawaii, something that we’re sure is on every beach bunnies bucket list – Our THALIA TOP was designed with sporty surfer girls in mind! – with it’s high racer neckline and open back it is fashionable and durable for keeping everything undercover while enjoying the waves! Surfers have been heading to places like Hawaii and Australia for decades, lured by famously great waves and fabulous scenery. Local surfers say the waves are on par with Indonesia, and – perhaps most intriguingly – uncrowded. As you might expect for popular tourist destination, some of the best places to go surfing are in Hawaii, some of our favourite beaches include Laniakea, Oahu, Honolua Bay and Ke’ei, Kealakekua Bay.

Remember every surfer needs a great tan.

NUMBER 5 SRI LANKA

Fifth on our list is the beautiful beaches of Sri Lanka, where the elephants roam, it’s a photographers paradise and the home of tea! Yes, Sri Lanka is one of the world’s largest tea exporters with over 20% market share by volume. (And we all know how much us Brits need a good cuppa where every we are in the world!) As an island nation, Sri Lanka is surrounded by the Indian Oceana.  A trip to Sri Lanka is not complete without surfing, body boarding or just laying under the sun on its golden beaches that have been a tourist mainstay for years. Be sure to pack your favorite camera during your visit – A combination of sunny, yet cloudy skies and lush green landscapes, truly makes Sri Lanka a photographer’s paradise! We wish we could just book a one way flight - ASAP.
